About This Spot
Stepping into Mama Jan in the heart of Baku is like entering a lively corner of Georgia—warm, vibrant, and full of character. The space hums with a gentle energy, where colorful décor and thoughtful details invite you to pause and savor the moment. It feels both welcoming and alive, a spot where the rhythm of good food and shared stories fills the air without rush or pretense.
The pace here is unhurried but engaging. Whether you find yourself seated inside beneath decorative touches that hint at Georgian traditions or enjoying the summer breeze on the outdoor terrace, there’s a timelessness to the experience. Soft undertones of traditional music and the occasional spirited performance wrap around conversations, turning an ordinary meal into a quietly memorable occasion.
As you explore the menu, the dishes reveal themselves as much more than food—they’re expressions of a rich culinary heritage made approachable and heartfelt. The kitchen offers a welcoming invitation to experiment, from tender meat preparations to pillowy, cheese-filled breads that come straight from ancient regional recipes. It’s the kind of place where you can discover new favorites with each visit, guided by servers who love what they share and know their way around every item on the plate.
The atmosphere is thoughtfully balanced: lively without being overwhelming, intimate without feeling small. Here, language or background seem to melt away in favor of shared warmth and genuine human connection. It is, above all, a place built on the joy of honest hospitality and the simple pleasure of gathering around a table.

An authentic Georgian restaurant in Baku, replete with a variety of kinkalis, kachapuris, and chacha grape vodka. Very bright, colourful setting.

I loved the place very much. The meat was extremely delicious. The hachapuri, didn't impress that much but it didn't change a bit our positive impression from the place. During the meal we had a nice time listening to a live music and to view a show of Georgian dances. The waitress was very welcoming and gave wonderful recommendations. Thanks, guys!

Honestly wont lie. ! Best kachapuri I ate in my entire life, it was just out of this world. Such a nice service with very good knowledge of what we should eat and language wasnt a barrier. The place was full of vibes, there was hinkali looking clouds on the roof of the shop

For the taste of food, service and atmosphere this place is amazing. Foods (I took Ojaxuri with pork) are fresh and cooked very well and what I liked the most about menu is they have many different kinds of Georgian dishes which you can taste. During summer time there are seats available outside so you can have a meal outside as well. All in all I would recommend to visit.
